Median value is OK for reference, couple of places, it is quoted that 20,000 GC numbers are available for EB2. For 40 working days in Aug/Sep, it averages to 500 GC per day.

Which US consulate did you apply? Do you already have H1B on your passport? I think the best option will be to approach your employer and have them sort this issue out. Sometimes, the consulate will request for some additional information from the employer and once they get this information, they will issue the visa.

I too think requesting the employer to take the action, with their lawyer. If they are good, and with no issues, they must initiate this and fix it,
but if they are not good, they may withdraw at this point and may feel "lets not get into more headaches"... in which case you may not pursue further.

I guess you already know but can't help to remind this :
USPS has a system of mail-forwarding. After leaving your old-address, if you notify USPS, USPS will continue to forward all your first class mails to your new address specified by you. You can do it Online @ usps.com... I guess they charge $1 for verifying your address from the CC address, if you do it online(which I did).
So, NO, your mails will not be lost!

please note: the final USCIS operating procedures relating to AC21 is stillborn eight years after the law was passed, which means the government can make the interpretation of AC21 loose or tight as it sees fit.

You are not the only one to get that message. Info pass appointments are tough to get now. Check during odd hours. I finally found one after hours. ASC's are NOT the same as Field offices. Also Some Field offices require you to show the corresponding state drivers license.
Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

Based on your receipt number, you have applied for adjustment of status on 80th working day of fiscal year 2002. Sorry to hear that you case still pending. You are concerned now and wokeup from sleep after 2 years, 10 months, 12 days. If you are (1) employment based, post your country of chargability, labor priority date and date your file I485 - some souls can take a educated guess. (2) family based I485, this forum is not for you - your only options is to call USCIS
Thats informative. My receipt is SRC-07-264-XXXXX. The received date is July 2 and notice date is Sept 4. I dont think my application was received on the 264th working day. Even if you consider Sept 4 as the 264th day, that means that there are about 274 working days in a year (Fiscal -Sept 30 or otherwise). That seems too high!

How did your GC process turn out? Any RFEs because of this?
Basically I don't have a problem with amending my H1B if it does not do me any harm when it comes to my GC. What's most irritating is that my GC attny who has all the answers and could very easily advice me what to do suggested to set up a PAID CONSULTATION with their H1B attorney to discuss this. I am almost certain that eventual conclusion will be that its o.k. to amend the H1B. Even during this time after having spent the 1000s of $$$ for my GC they still want to milk me for more money and that's more troublesome than anything else. Its just the attitude.
Having said all this, I think I am going to spend the $$, talk to the H1B attny just for my own satisfaction.

May not be direct answer to your question, but I had the same issue 3 years back - though my situation was a little bit different as I was changing dept. within the company - i also had arguments from both sides of the fences......eventually the company lawyer went ahead and filed an AMMENDED H1-B!!!!!......And on my GC application it has been shown as 2 different jobs.....now the sad part....when I suggested to the lawyer to file in EB-2 category instead of EB-3 (I know it also depends on the job description) because I had experience (previous job in the same company) + MS degree......the same lawyer said that it is not counted as 2 separate jobs because you were in the same company:(.......might be he was correct both the time (though I have my own doubts).....but I would advise to do what the lawyer suggests......unless you have some solid proof to back your theory!!!

I bet you are kidding. If you aren't, then what I meant was various rules and regulations that come with each application, application process available from USCIS. One good way is to go to state.gov or to popular immi law education sites of lawyers (google comes handy here).

First I want to learn to take more pictures. I never seem to have the urge, opportunity and camera all in the same place at the same time.
I also would like to learn what to take pictures of. I am obviously limited by the capabilities of my Cybershot and circular polarizer. What kinds of photographs, subjects and conditions should I concentrate on so that I can take pictures I will be pleased with?
I live in Houston.

You will do best taking pictures of things you like. You will put more of yourself into it, and it will show. Whatever equipment you have is sufficient to start climbing that learning curve. When you outgrow it, you will know it and upgrade.
